Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour made history in a 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night, becoming the fastest bench boss in league history to notch 300 victories.
He accomplished the feat in his 488th game as a coach. He has a 300-143-45 record over his career.
The 54-year-old eclipsed Bruce Boudreau, who held the previous mark for nearly 11 years. Boudreau nabbed his 300th win in his 496th contest while coaching the Anaheim Ducks in February 2014. He hasn't been an NHL head coach since the 2022-23 campaign.
