Orioles open to trades

The Baltimore Orioles are open to discussing trades for veterans Cedric Mullins and Ryan Mountcastle, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Mountcastle, who was taken in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft, is the longest-tenured player on the Orioles. The 27-year-old has hit 12 home runs with 43 RBIs and 44 runs across 90 games over the 2024 campaign and has developed into a quality offensive player with a career OPS+ of 114. The first baseman is under club control for another two years.

Mullins, 29, has spent his entire seven-year career in Baltimore. The outfielder has 10 home runs, 32 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases in 90 contests this season. He made his only All-Star Game appearance in 2021, winning a Silver Slugger the same year. Mullins is arbitration-eligible for the final time in 2025 and will hit free agency at the conclusion of that campaign.
