Robert MacIntyre found some trouble on the back nine but held on to secure his first career PGA TOUR victory, beating Ben Griffinby one stroke at the Canadian Open on Sunday.
MacIntyre almost squandered his lead with back-to-back bogeys on the 12th and 13th holes, but he bounced back with a birdie on the 15th hole that proved to be the difference.
An emotional MacIntyre celebrated with his father, Dougie, on the bag after the winning putt. MacIntyre has changed caddies several times during his first year as a full-time PGA TOUR player, but his dad proved to have the winning formula.
