Nelly Korda misses cut at U.S. Open

A much-improved second round wasn't enough for tournament favorite Nelly Korda to reach the weekend at the U.S. Women's Open, as the world No. 1 missed the cut by two strokes after finishing 36 holes at 10-over par.

Korda concluded her day at even par at a punishingly difficult Lancaster Country Club, but it wasn't enough to erase a disastrous 80 in the first round.

Her miserable start to the event featured a septuple-bogey 10 on the par-3 12th. Korda was much more consistent Friday, with three birdies on the front and eight consecutive pars on the back before a bogey at the last.
