Star reliever Edwin Diaz suffered a right knee injury Wednesday while celebrating with his teammates moments after he saved Puerto Rico's win over the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.
The injury appeared to occur when Puerto Rican players mobbed Diaz on the infield.
Teammates carried Diaz off the field before he went down the tunnel in a wheelchair. His brother, Alexis, also a pitcher for Puerto Rico, was in tears on the field.
