The San Diego Padres are locking up another superstar.
San Diego and third baseman Manny Machado are finalizing an 11-year, $350-million contract extension, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Machado's new deal will begin this season, according to Dennis Lin of The Athletic.
The extension contains no opt-outs and includes a full no-trade clause, reports Lin.
The 2022 NL MVP runner-up planned to opt out of his contract at the end of the 2023 campaign. However, Padres owner Peter Seidler said the 30-year-old's extension was a "top priority."
