Reliever Scott Effross was left off the New York Yankees' roster for their American League Division Series against the Cleveland Guardians and requires Tommy John surgery, according to YES Network's Jack Curry.
New York acquired Effross from the Chicago Cubs at the trade deadline. The 28-year-old missed one month with a shoulder issue but returned at the end of September for five relief appearances.
