Senators sign Tim Stutzle to 8 Years

Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion announced the team has signed center Tim Stutzle to an eight-year extension with an average annual value of $8.35 million, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Stutzle has one year remaining on his entry-level contract and would have become a restricted free agent after it expired. His new deal will kick in during the 2023-24 campaign.

The Senators took Stutzle with the third overall pick in the 2020 draft, and the German forward quickly cemented himself as a key part of Ottawa's young core. He enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign in 2021-22, logging a career-high 22 goals and 36 assists in 79 games while averaging just over 18 minutes of ice time per contest.
