Tests confirmed Monday that New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones suffered a "pretty severe" high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Jones' return timetable is still unclear, but there's hope he won't need surgery, Pelissero adds.
The second-year passer hopped off the field and was in clear pain while being helped to the locker room late versus the Ravens. X-rays on Jones' ankle reportedly came back negative.
