St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Jordan Montgomery has been one of the most impactful trade-deadline pickups, and after another sparkling start Friday, the 29-year-old poked fun at the team that dealt him.
"What trade?" Montgomery said with a laugh, according to the New York Post's Ted Holmlund. "I don't remember that. I turned the page. I'm excited to be here, and every five days, I want to go out and win."
The Cardinals acquired Montgomery from the New York Yankees on Aug. 2 for outfielder Harrison Bader and a player to be named later or cash considerations. Bader has yet to appear in a game for the Yankees as he recovers from a bout of plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
