The New York Yankees placed slugger Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with left Achilles tendonitis.
New York recalled speedy outfielder Tim Locastro in a corresponding move.
Stanton hasn't been in the starting lineup since Friday. He last appeared in a game as a pinch-hitter in Saturday's 6-3 defeat to the Baltimore Orioles.
